What's up this week in loonygames? Ask our editor.
In other loonygames doins, the much awaited redesign almost went live today, but we pushed it back one more week so we can iron out all the kinks. It sounds like a pain i'm sure, but hopefully all of you out there will really appreciate the changes. Since i've gotten a ton of requests to know more about the redesign, here's a rundown of the new features: - Easier to navigate page layout. - "Today in loonygames" insert, that features everything that's running that day on every page. - "This week in loonygames" insert that details that week's schedule (previously only available on this page). - Search engine accessible from every page. - New, bookmarkable URL with an expanded contents page (the individual issues will remain in their own folders, but this page won't move). - Much more scalable design, that looks better on higher resolutions. Other stuff that's in the works, but most likely won't go up next week: - A browsable Cover Gallery, featuring high-res images (perfect for Windows backdrops) of all our covers. - The message boards, at long last. I hope you'll all be pleased with the new stuff that's coming here...we're certainly loving getting it up for you. :) Meanwhile, this Wednesday marks the return (at long last!) of Geek Toys after an extended hiatus. We kick things off with a review of my killer new PC from Alienware PC systems, so check it out. Since I've (finally!) got a real computer here at home, i've been playing tons of great new games...a quick list of what i've been playing: Shogo, Grim Fandango (reviewed this Friday in the Top Shelf), Sin, Trespasser, Need For Speed III, Klingon Honor Guard, Unreal (multiplayer), Heretic 2 (demo), Blood 2 (demo) and believe it or not...more that I can't remember off the top of my head. I've got a large stack of games just waiting to be played (and I should be getting Tomb Raider 3, Half-Life, and Thief this week!). Look for reviews of these games soon. I've also been working my tuchus off on our next upcoming special issue...it's going to be our best yet. Woop...gotta run...these games ain't playing themselves. ;)
