From the Mouth of Madness:
Ye Gods It's Finally Here

By Jason "loonyboi" Bergman

What's up this week in loonygames? Ask our editor.

eah, it's here...loonygames' big ol' redesign. What do you think? Is it completely ugly? Do you love it? Let me know (either directly via the above e-mail link, or send it into feedback).

I tell ya...i've spent the last 48 or so hours working on this thing non stop, and my brain is complete mush...so you better like it. Or i'll woop your ass.

Seriously, though, let us know what you think.

I pretty much spent the entire holiday weekend working on the redesign, but I did get to spend some time away from it...during that time I finished playing Shogo: Mobile Armor Division and Sin, both of which I thought were great games. They're very similar, if you ask me...granted one has you in a giant robot, but they both have a definite emphasis on action, and both have some incredibly cheezeball dialogue in them.

Oh, and the ending to Sin makes the whole game worth it. Seriously. If you have it and aren't planning on finishing it, fwap yourself a few times and jump back in the game. It's a hell of an ending (no I won't tell you what it is...you'll just have to find out for yourself).

Now that the redesign is (finally!) up, it's time to start work on loonygames version 2.0. What you're looking at right now is version 1.5 (I know...aren't I a geek?).

What's to come in loonygames 2.0? Well, for starters, the whole HTML thing is going bye bye for me. Don't get me wrong, I love staying up 'till 5:00 AM fixing up HTML pages, but...the time has come to go database, baby. We're getting too big to keep doing it the old fashioned way.

So loonygames 2.0 will be completely database driven. Which will make my life much easier. Also in 2.0 will be (at long last!) the user forums. This has been a big demand ever since we started this here site, but I haven't been able to do it due to server constraints.

Thankfully that's going to be a thing of the past soon, so i'll be able to integrate the forums right into the redesign. Just wait...you'll love it. In the meantime, check out PlanetCrap. It's tons of fun. :)

We got some responses to the Next-Generation dealie (you can read it here if you missed it). And hey! They were all positive. Thanks for the support.

By the way, there's bound to be errors lying about...feel free to send them to me. :)

That's it for this week from me...I've got to catch up on a few hours of sleep. Either that, or play some more Shogo. deathmatch I haven't made up my mind yet. :)
