The ReRuns Issue

Hey, we're all off to E3 this week...but check out some of our favorite articles from the loonygames archives!

Regular Columns:

  • From the Mouth of Madness: My favorite column? That'd have to be "Overrated." Either that, or "Underrated," or possibly even "Weird."

  • Pixel Obscura: Josh Vasquez's favorite edition of Pixel Obscura is from our seventh issue, and is the one where he played Blasto.

  • Pad Happy: Nick F's favorite column was Hardware Wars, the piece where he made his predictions for the next round of console wars. And you know what? Lots of them were right.

Developer's Corner:

  • Thinking Outside the Box: "A peek Inside My Brain" is classic Steed. Watch him make a model from start to finish (see part two, also).

  • Beaker's Bent: Can real be fun? Rich Wyckoff questions all the realism that's creeping into games. From our 22nd issue.

  • Painting on Polygons: Rick Grossenbacher's favorite column is actually this cover story he did about using Photoshop and Illustrator together.

  • Behind the Curtain: So you wanna make games? Check out Matt Gilbert's favorite column.

Guest Editorial:

  • Whose Community is it, Anyway?: There have been tons of classic Guest Editorials, but my personal favorite may have to be this one by Stephen "Blue" Heaslip, if only because it's so rare that he'll ever speak out on anything.

Community Profile:

Off the Shelf:

  • Geek Toys: loonyboi finally gets the computer of his dreams. From Issue 14.

  • The Top Shelf: Rowan Crawford's exaustive review of Half-Life. From Issue 16..

  • The Bargain Bin: Deer Hunter II. The sequel that's actually worse than the original. From our 15th issue.

Comics:

  • User Friendly : Updated daily! (DAILY)

  • Penny Arcade: The kids' favorite strips? This one, about waiting for Sin levels to load, and this one, the Requiem demo strip. Jason "loonyboi" Bergman's favorite one is this E3 one from several months ago, that's just too funny to not post here. :)
